Task Description:
In the Chinese Cinderella unit, we learned traditional Chinese dressing culture. Thought-out the movie of “Yeh Shen” (Chinese Cinderella), scholars explored and analysis the traditional Chinese dressing culture. In ancient China, a cloth with a pair of long and wide sleeves is considered as an expensive cloth. Moreover, one piece long dress is more expensive than two pieces dress and much more expensive than pants. Besides that, head dress, shoulderetter, traditional high heels are all symbols of rich.
For 2nd to 5th graders, they need to draw their own Chinese Cinderella and she must wear traditional Chinese dress. Moreover, scholars need to explain whether their Cinderella rich or poor based on the traditional Chinese dressing culture. 4th to 5th graders are also asked to give their Cinderella a Chinese name based on Chinese culture.
For 6th graders, they studied the sentence pattern “My Cinderella is called+ _______” in Mandarin, therefore, they need to write their Cinderella’s’ names in Mandarin after they draw their own Cinderella.
